Foundation boards are a group of individuals steering the foundation now—and into the future—by developing practices and procedures based on the mission while fulfilling key duties. So one could say the basics of board work is technical and practical: meet regularly, make decisions, and disburse funds.
What Makes Your Board Soar
We hear from many trustees that their board work is most fulfilling when everyone can agree on a common purpose and find joy in the work. However, when board members aren’t in sync, discord inhibits productive conversations, forcing decisions to become difficult and uncomfortable. To mitigate that, the boards must work to be adaptive: managing and iterating change.
