Learning Lab Module 2:
Streamline, Let Go, and Engage with Your Community

This is part 2 of a 3-part Learning Lab.

Engaging with grantees and community members, in person or virtually, is essential to learning and developing relationships—key drivers of catalytic philanthropy. The first step is streamlining and prioritizing your work in order to free up time to build these essential relationships.

Learning Objectives

  • Take stock of how you currently spend time accomplishing your work.
  • Name 9 ways to prioritize and let go of burdensome tasks in areas such as grant application and reporting, proposal review, and prepping for board meetings.
  • Develop a personal script you can use while engaging grantees and community members to make clear you’re in listening and learning mode.
  • Gain confidence and inspiration from peers who spend half their time out in the field.
