While seventy percent of Exponent Philanthropy members have multiple staff, many have only one staff person. No matter your title, are you the foundation’s sole staff person? What is unique about your role of wearing many hats? How do you prioritize? What resources do you leverage beyond grants? How do you do it all?
Join in this networking hour with other sole-staffers to discuss successes, tips, and challenges. Member-host Laura Akers will offer an initial prompt to get the conversation started in round one, and for the second round, we’ll crowdsource your topic ideas for small-group discussions. Opt in to share your contact information with fellow participants to continue the conversations.
Laura serves as the program manager for the McCrory Foundation, a private family foundation based in Carter County, Oklahoma. Prior, she served in administration for a homeless services agency and worked as a newspaper reporter. Laura earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Elon University and also holds a Master’s in Arts in nonprofit leadership from Oklahoma City University.
About Virtual Roundtables
These low-key member conversations allow you to dig in, share knowledge, and ask about each other’s experiences through small group discussions.
Our hope is that you’ll be open with your peers and able to talk through your unique challenges. And that you’ll leave with a renewed sense of community and peer connections.
This is your space to explore topics that you are passionate about. Bring your experience to share and your questions to ask your colleagues.
This program uses Remo. You’ll need to use a desktop, laptop, or phone with Chrome, Safari, or Firefox as your browser. To access the conversation, you’ll receive an email with a link before the program.
Captioning is available during the presentation, not in the small group conversations. We can provide accommodations upon request (e.g. ASL interpreter). Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 202-580-6560 by November 29 if you need any accommodations.
