Throughout the field of philanthropy, collaboration is a catchall term that means different things to different people. Whether convening fellow funders, sharing office space or administrative support, or sharing grantmaking tools, funders are joining forces to create a bigger impact.

Funding partnerships, typically called funder collaboratives, are a highly engaged form of collaboration. Funder collaboratives unite members around a common mission and involve sharing resources or expertise to meet grantmaking goals.
